A POPULAR Limerick broadcaster has launched a new podcast, alongside bereavement website RIP.ie, about love, loss, and legacy.
The new Parting Words podcast, hosted by well known Ireland AM presenter Muireann O’Connell from Dooradoyle, has been described as opening up “honest conversations about grief, remembrance, and the enduring bonds that shape our lives”.
The six-part series will publish monthly and feature “intimate conversations with well‑known Irish voices who share their personal experiences of grief with honesty, humour, and heart”.
The first episode, available now, sees Muireann speak to radio presenter Colm Hayes, who reflects on the life of his beloved wife, Anne, who passed away in 2025 after living with breast cancer for six years.
“In a moving and deeply personal conversation, Colm speaks about how he and Anne lived fully during her illness, the strength and humour that defined her, and the shock of grief even when you think you’re prepared,” a statement from RIP.ie said.
“He also shares the small rituals and supports that help him navigate life without her. The episode sets a powerful, heartfelt tone for the series ahead.”
Other guests on the show will include Miriam O’Callaghan, Jacqui Hurley, Darragh Flemming, and Limerick’s own Sarah Corbett Lynch.
Speaking about her experience on the show, Muireann O’Connell said that “what struck me immediately about Parting Words was how uplifting and life‑affirming these conversations are, even when they’re rooted in loss”.
“Every guest brings such honesty, humour, and heart to the table. It’s a privilege to sit with people as they share stories about those they’ve loved and lost — and to create something that listeners can hopefully find comfort, connection, and even joy in.”
The show’s release comes as RIP.ie marks its 20th anniversary, with the organisation explaining that the new potcast “marks a significant new chapter, expanding the platform’s mission into audio storytelling and creating a space where people can speak openly about love, loss, and legacy”.
Parting Words is available on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, and all major podcast apps.
