A WOMAN in her 30s was hospitalised after being assaulted and beaten by a man with a hurley in Co Limerick in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Gardaí confirmed they received a report of the assault at Lord Edward Street in Kilmallock at approximately 5.20am on Sunday, January 25.

The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to University Hospital Limerick (UHL) for treatment.

Investigations are ongoing, and Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information to contact Bruff Garda Station on 061 382 940.
