Woman assaulted by man with hurley during early morning attack in Limerick

A WOMAN in her 30s was hospitalised after being assaulted and beaten by a man with a hurley in Co Limerick in the early hours of Sunday morning.

GardaĆ­ confirmed they received a report of the assault at Lord Edward Street in Kilmallock at approximately 5.20am on Sunday, January 25.

The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to University Hospital Limerick (UHL) for treatment.

Investigations are ongoing, and GardaĆ­ are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information to contact Bruff Garda Station on 061 382 940.
