HOLLYWOOD star Woody Harrelson paid a visit to Limerick yesterday and briefly reprised his role in the classic comedy Cheers that made him a household name. Woody got behind the counter in Punch’s Bar on New Street to fill a pint of Guinness, sang a few lines from the theme tune ‘Where Everybody Knows Your Name’,  and chatted with the regulars.

Woody and his driver stopped into The Greenyard Cafe and Punches for some food and a recharge for their electric car which was low on power on Sunday afternoon. The vegan film star enjoyed the restaurant’s very popular Buddha Bowl dish with sushi rice and Asian vegetables.

Denise, owner of The Greenyard Cafe, told Limerick Post that Woody was as laid back and easy-going as you would imagine him to be. Woody thanked the staff for their help and chatted with the locals and generously posed for many selfies in the bar before heading onto Killarney.

Harrelson has just finished filming his new movie called ‘Full Phil’ set in Paris, described as an absurdist comedy drama which also stars Kristen Stewart.
