JOIN Artistic Partner Henning Kraggerud and Irish Chamber Orchestra (ICO) on a captivating journey through Mozart’s genius, performing across the country this April. Irish Chamber Orchestra is a bold, big-hearted ensemble whose rich mix of music, people, and ideas brings something special wherever they play, whether it be towns across Ireland or on stages around the world.
Henning brings Mozart’s World to life in performances full of warmth, insight, and charm. He doesn’t just play, he chats with his audiences, sharing stories and reflections that make the music feel personal, alive, and unforgettable.
Mozart wrote five violin concertos in a year, and his Fifth Concerto is the most imaginative of them all. Richly emotive, it’s intimate and deeply expressive. Henning adds his own distinctive voice, shaping phrases with warmth and freedom, highlighting the lyrical quality of the slow movement, and giving the playful “Turkish” episode its sparkling bite. The result is elegant, spontaneous, and vividly alive.
The mood deepens in the Violin Sonata in E minor, K. 304, as Henning draws listeners into a quiet, personal world.
His warm tone and expressive phrasing allow the music’s tenderness, and vulnerability to shine through, touching audiences and absorbing them in Mozart’s intimate voice.
Finally, feel the brilliance of the youthful Mozart in his Symphony No. 29 in A major, K. 201, as it brims in inventive charm.
The fast movements are bright and exhilarating, while the lyrical passages are warm and graceful. With Henning guiding the performance, every detail shines, making the symphony feel both timeless, immediate and full of joy.
“This is Mozart as you’ve never experienced him, brimming with heart, humour, and brilliance”, say the ICO
