Man arrested in Limerick to face terror related charges

A MAN arrested by Gardaí in Limerick is to face charges in court this Thursday morning, as part of a cross border terrorism-related investigation.

The man, aged in his 30s, is to appear before Portlaoise District Court, Co Laois, alongside another man who was arrested by gardai in Portlaoise.

“Two other males currently before the courts, will be further charged in connection with this investigation, also before Portlaoise District Court this morning, Thursday, 19th March 2026 at 10.30am,” said a garda spokesperson.

“The investigation continues to be led by An Garda Síochána Special Detective Unit,” they said.

A total of four individuals have been arrested in the Republic of Ireland as part of the ongoing investigation.
