THREE new special classes have been allocated for Scoil Mhuire, Meelick Primary School, from this September.

It’s part of a wider announcement in County Clare, with schools in Ennistymon also set to receive the boost.

Welcoming the news, Fianna Fáil TD for Clare, Cathal Crowe, a past pupil of Meelick Primary School, who began his teaching career there, said: “As someone who has worked in education for almost two decades, I place a very high value on inclusive education.

“I have seen, both in my own youth and throughout my teaching career, how children with additional needs were not always able to access appropriate supports within their local school.”
