FINE Gael councillor Tommy O’Sullivan has asked Limerick Council whether it has engaged with Cork County Council to assess any structural damage to the underside of Ballaghaderg Bridge (Mitchelstown Golf Club), which has been described as dangerous.

Cllr O’Sullivan was told at the Cappamore-Kilmallock area meeting for the month of March, that as part of the next stage of the process, engagement will be initiated with the Bridge Section of Cork County Council to arrange a site meeting.

“The purpose of this meeting will be to determine the appropriate actions required and to establish which local authority will assume the lead role in progressing the matter,” the Council’s Director of Transportation, Patricia Liddy, explained.
