SINGER Peter Andre returns to the Limerick stage this week for the second time in less than a year.
The British-Australian singer songwriter will perform at the University Concert Hall starring as the lead role in The Very Best of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons this Wednesday (April 1).
Described as a high-pitched celebration of timeless music from one of the biggest selling groups of all time, the show includes familiar classics like Sherry, My Eyes Adored You, Big Girls Don’t Cry, and Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.
Limerick fans flocked to see the star perform his hit song Mysterious Girl last August where he invited fans to dance on stage. Videos of the lively scenes were widely circulated on social media at the time.
Speaking to the Limerick Post this past week, Peter Andre says fans can expect something a little different this time: “I didn’t expect the reaction on the day, it was so much fun…what a party crowd it was.”
“This performance is different, it’s very slick. The outfits are really nice, and it’s all suited and booted.
“The performers are West End, and it’s something different than doing a gig of your own songs where you can just turn to the crowd and get them on stage.”
The catchy Four Seasons and Frankie Valli hits resonated with Peter Andre, who said they “immediately took me back to my childhood in Australia, when we were growing up on the Gold Coast. The radio stations used to play music on the beaches and blast out the local radio stations.”
“A lot of people don’t know this about me … but I’ve always sung falsetto … So being able to do this and give it a go is so exciting.”
Marking the show’s first stint in Ireland, Peter and the cast will also perform at The Helix in Dublin this Thursday (April 2), the Millenium Forum Theatre in Derry (Sunday, April 5), before finishing up on Easter Monday at Ulster Hall, Belfast.
And it won’t be the last time fans can catch Peter Andre on stage – with two shows already in the pipeline. And for long-time fans, the star is preparing to release his first album in 15 years on April 10.
Tickets for The Very Best of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons are available on the University Concert Hall website.
