
GARDAĆ are investigating after a man suffered serious head and facial injuries in an alleged assault in Limerick on Thursday.
GardaĆ suspect the injured man was struck several times about the head with a wheel brace or an iron bar.
The alleged attack occurred at a house in the Southill area of Limerick City around 3pm on Thursday.
The motive for the alleged assault was unclear, however GardaĆ suspect it is linked to a personal dispute between two males.
Detectives were hoping to interview the injured man, who was being treated at University Hospital Limerick.
āGardaĆ and emergency services attended the scene following report of an alleged incident of assault at a residence in Southill, Limerick, that occurred at approximately 3pm, Thursday 16th March,ā said a Garda spokeswoman.
āA male (aged in his 20s) was conveyed to hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.ā
āA technical examination of the scene was carried out and investigations are ongoing,ā said the Garda spokeswoman.
