LIMERICK GC will host its inaugural Bon Secours Hospital-sponsored Open Men’s Senior Scratch on Bank Holiday Monday.
This 36-hole competition, played in a double shotgun format, will bring a strong field of top players to Ballyclough.
“A proud addition to this competition is the Limerick Scratch Cup – The 1976 Memorial Trophy, kindly donated by our chairman, Noel O’Donnell. The trophy honours the 50th anniversary of our historic 1976 ‘double win’ in the All-Ireland Senior Cup and Barton Shield, a legacy we are proud to celebrate and build upon,” said Paul Burke, Men’s Captain.
The event is supported by Bon Secours Hospital Limerick.
“Their generous support has allowed us to present an event of real quality, with attractive prizes that are already drawing significant interest,” Burke said.
He continued: “As this is our first year hosting the Senior Scratch Cup, its success is important, not just for the competition itself, but for the continued growth of Limerick Golf Club.”
“Members and their guests are welcome to come along on the day and enjoy top-class golf on our course and to see the course at its very best. The competition offers a wonderful opportunity to showcase our course, our facilities, and the hospitality of our club, and we hope it becomes a flagship event in our calendar for years to come.”
