LIMERICK will welcome lake experts from across Ireland and Europe this Thursday (May 28) for the Future Lakes Ireland event.
The conference will welcome lake exports, environmental organisations, public bodies, and European project partners for a national workshop on the future health and resilience of Ireland’s lakes.
The event has grown out of the Lough Gur Future Lakes Project, a  local partnership between Maigue Rivers Trust, Mary Immaculate College, Lough Gur DAC, Limerick City and County Council and the Local Authority Waters Programme (LAWPRO).
The partnership is working to explore practical  approaches to improving the ecological health of Lough Gur while supporting stronger links between science, policy, land management and community action.
