LIMERICK Garden Festival is back at the Milk Market again with its plant, garden, craft, and food market with traders from all over Ireland, all-day expert talks, kids workshops and entertainment.
The festival will this year continue its cookery demonstration and also have a strong arts element included – allowing visitors to view the making of outdoor arts in action. Visitors can expect much educational and also fun gardening and outdoor elements for all ages on June 21.
Mayor of Limerick John Moran joined the festival launch and said: “I am delighted to support, from the Mayoral Fund, the Limerick Garden Festival now in its seventh year taking place at our beloved Milk Market again.”
“It brings with it every year both stallholders and visitors from all over Ireland and the line-up of garden and food experts on their stage is of great calibre again this year. In addition to this, I am pleased to hear that several new local, regional and national sponsors including Vision Solar, Clare Topsoil and IOMST are this year supporting the festival which confirms its strong appeal.”
Festival manager Carmen Cronin said: “Limerick Garden Festival is all about bringing you quality entertainment and education in horticulture and related disciplines. Last year we made the leap from Garden to Food and this year we are expanding again to include outdoor arts into our programming and demonstrations. It is through supports from our sponsors, Limerick City Council and this year the Mayor himself that we can continue to run this festival. This year’s programme has plenty on offer with a great line-up of national and international garden and food experts including Hester Ford, Jim Cronin, Tom Flavin, Michelle Dirks and our first participant of our new Traders support programme Alison Murphy.”
The full festival schedule is now available on the festival website and the Masterclass in Organic Gardening with Jim Cronin can be booked also. The festival will see a great quality variety of garden, craft and Food stalls from Limerick, Cork, Clare and as far as Carlow and Waterford. There will be kids’ workshops and entertainment and of course sumptuous food options for all tastes.
