Fairview Rangers retain Premier League title

AHEAD of schedule, Fairview Rangers were crowned Premier League Champions, a title they won last year after a break of over 20 years.

It came after nearest challengers Ballynanty Rovers could only manage a 3-3 draw at Mungret Regional.

The Fran Mullaly Trophy was presented to the Blues on Sunday morning at The Fairgreen after the concluding round fixture with Balla, which resulted in a 4-1 win for the home team.

Goals came through Shane Duggan, Josh McCarthy, and Darragh Rainsford, while there was also an OG.

Meanwhile, Fairview and surprise packets Janesboro contest the prized Lawson Cup Final at Jackman Park this Friday, kick-off 7pm.

For Carew, the goals came through Pat Aherne, Callum Murphy and Pat Boyle, with a cheeky lob of the goalkeeper.

Meanwhile, in the Desmond Cup (West Limerick) Final, Broadford United completed a historic three-in-a-row with a 1-0 win over Newcastle West Town at Mick Hanly Park, Askeaton.

The precious goal arrived in stoppage time from alert teenager Adam O’Kelly.
