TWO newly-completed Limerick buildings clearly had success laid in their foundations, after being nominated in the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland’s (RIAI) Ireland’s Favourite Building awards.

The new Bon Secours Hospital in Towlerton and the University of Limerick Student Centre, both opened in the last year, were shortlisted for this year’s awards.

The two Limerick landmarks are in good company, with other nominees including the Royal Hospital Kilmainham North Range (Dublin), Quayside Water Sports Centre (Dublin), Ireland House Tokyo (Japan), Cruit Island (Donegal), Barretstown Medical Centre (Kildare), and the Toronto and Regional Conservational Authority building in Canada.

Votes in the free public ballot can be made on riai.ie/public-choice-award-poll.
