CUSTOMERS, local pet owners and animal lovers came together during a week-long reopening celebration at Petmania’s newly refurbished Eastpoint store in Limerick, raising a total of €3,000 for two local rescue organisations.

The fundraising initiative formed part of Petmania’s official reopening celebrations at its Ballysimon Road location, which ran from May 23 to 29. Funds were raised through a combination of in-store donations, raffle ticket sales and fundraising activities throughout the week, with proceeds supporting Molly Moo’s Westie Rescue, which supports the rescue and rehoming of dogs in need across the region, and DEEL Sighthound Rescue, which specialises in the rehabilitation and rehoming of Greyhounds and Lurchers. Each rescue will receive €1,500 to support their ongoing work.

The week-long fundraising campaign kicked off at Petmania’s official “Pawty” celebration on Saturday May 23, which welcomed hundreds of local customers and their pets through the doors for a day of entertainment, giveaways and community spirit.

The newly refurbished store is now officially open to customers and offers an enhanced shopping experience for pet owners across Limerick and the wider region. Having served the local community since 2007, the upgraded store includes an expanded dog grooming studio, enhanced pet healthcare services, interactive shopping experiences, a pet bakery, personalised ID tag station and dedicated pet “Sleepzone.”

Eileen O’Donovan from Molly Moo’s Westie Rescue said: “We are so grateful to Petmania and the local Limerick community for the incredible support shown throughout the reopening week. Every contribution, big or small, will directly help us continue caring for dogs in need and finding them loving forever homes. It was wonderful to see so many people come together to support rescue animals and we truly appreciate the generosity shown by Petmania customers.”

Suzanne Collins from DEEL Sighthound Rescue added: “The kindness and support shown by the Limerick community during Petmania’s reopening celebrations has been absolutely amazing. We would like to sincerely thank Petmania and everyone who supported the campaign throughout the week.”

Alongside fundraising, customers also donated pet food, healthcare supplies and other essential items at in-store collection points throughout the week.
