A WELL-KNOWN local talent and a former Limerick Rose has called on the people of Limerick to help make her dreams of musical stardom come true.

21-year-old Molli-Ann O’Halloran is working hard to raise funds to help set her on her path to success at the prestigious London School of Musical Theatre.

The young Limerick woman had the entire county rooting for her when she represented as the Limerick Rose at the 2023 Rose of Tralee. Now, she is asking the county to have her back once more.

“To my shock and joy, I was offered a place on their prestigious one-year musical theatre course, beginning in September 2026. This opportunity is truly life-changing. It will allow me to train with some of the most experienced and respected professionals in the industry, helping me grow as a performer and opening doors to a career I have dreamed of my entire life.

“I come from a working-class family and am one of four siblings. From as far back as I can remember, performing has been my dream. Music has always been where my heart lies,” Molli-Ann wrote on her GoFundMe campaign page, which is still a long way from reaching its €25,000 goal.

Without the help of Irish or UK education grants or funding, Molli-Ann is aiming to raise the all-important funds to pay her £17,000 school fees, as well as accommodation and living expenses, for the one-year course at the London School of Musical Theatre.

“From an early age music has been my sole dream. I know it’s my life’s passion,” Molli-Ann told the Limerick Post.
“I remember going to see my first musical in Dublin. It was Les Mis. That first sound of the orchestra hit like a wave of adrenaline. I had instant goosebumps. It was just like pure electricity. I will always remember that moment of knowing in my heart that this is where I need to be.”

And the young talent has already begun making a name for herself playing Princess Alexa in the Limerick Panto Society’s performance of Aladdin in TUS Millennium Theatre.

She is also set to host a night of music and song to help in her fundraising effort. The event will take place on June 17 at the Castletroy Park Hotel and see some of the best known names in Limerick musical theatre take to the stage – all in the name of making Molli-Ann’s dreams of the stage come true.

Acts on the night will include MC Elle Uminati, musical director Aiden Boland, The Dance Academy, Limerick Panto Society, Michelle Grimes, AJ McGuane, Harry Moriarty, Hands in Harmony, and more. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.

“Over the years, I have been proud to use my passion for music to give back. From performing at events and fundraisers and supporting charities such as Novas and communities within ASD and SEN. It is something I hope to continue to do throughout my career,” Molli-Ann said.

“It is with humility that I ask for your support. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world.”

The former Limerick Rose said she “hesitated before creating this fundraiser, as I know there are many important causes out there. However, with the encouragement of my family, friends, and mentors, I have taken this step in the hope of making something truly meaningful a reality.”
