ONE of Limerick’s most recognised voices presented morning talk-show Limerick Today on Live 95 for the last time today (Friday, June 12).
Joe Nash, show presenter and CEO Station Director, concluded his final show after almost 30 years at the station, 17 of which he hosted the popular morning current affairs programme.
Speaking to listeners, Mr Nash said on air: “This is my final day at Live 95 after almost 30 years, the last 17 as presenter of Limerick Today and CEO Station Director. Thank you for listening, contributing, debating, arguing in that unique Limerick way, and for giving me more than the occasional going over”.
He added: “Thanks too, for doing so much for the many good causes and initiatives we’ve highlighted, and the various charities we’ve raised money for. Most recently, Down Syndrome Limerick. I work with so many great people on this show, including our producer, Anne Marie Geraghty, who’s been here for the whole run and isn’t going anywhere”.
He also paid tribute to staff at the radio station including the “management group Gary Connor, Julie White and Gillian Devlin, audience advertisers and the wider Limerick community, as well as his family and friends”.
“I know Live 95 will continue to be a success, and I wish everyone well. I won’t know what to do with myself. For the first time in 34 years, I get to take the summer off before seeing what’s next. I got to do my dream job in my hometown. Truly, who can ask for more?”
“Go on, Limerick. Good luck, and good bye”.
