One dead and four injured in tragic crash in County Limerick

A MAN in his 40s lost his life in a road crash in County Limerick this past Sunday night.

Gardaí are investigating the fatal crash, which also left four others in hospital to be treated for their injuries.

The fatal crash took place this past Sunday night (June 14) on the L1135 near Pullagh, Pallasgreen, County Limerick.

Gardaí said the two-car collision took place at around 10pm.

According to Gardaí the driver of the first car, a man aged in his 40s, who was the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency responders. His body was removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick (UHL), where a post-mortem examination was due to take place.

Four others, all travelling in the second car, were also conveyed to University Hospital Limerick to be treated for their injuries.

Gardaí said the driver of the second car, a woman aged in her 50s, and a teenage girl, were being treated at UHL for serious injuries.

Two other passengers, a woman aged in her 20s and a teenage boy, were being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Gardaí have appealed to the public not to share any footage of the crash online.

Gardaí said the road is currently closed pending technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.

Following the fatal crash, Gardaí have issued an appeal to the public for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward with any information which may be useful to the investigation.

“Road users who may have camera footage (including dashcam) and were travelling on the L1135 near Pullagh, Pallasgreen, County Limerick, between 9.30pm and 10.00pm on Sunday 14th June 2026, are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí,” a statement from An Garda Síochàna said.

“An Garda Síochána is aware that images and video footage related to this incident are circulating on social media and messaging platforms. We are appealing to anyone who receives this content to refrain from sharing or reposting it further.”

Anyone with any information on the fatal crash is asked to contact Bruff Street Garda Station on 061 382 940, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

“Investigations are ongoing,” Gardaí said.
