Further arrest in connection with Geoghegan murder

A 37-year-old woman was detained in Limerick on Thursday night.

Seven men and seven women were in custody on Tuesday in connection with the murder, but one of those has since been released without charge pending instructions from the DPP.

A man was also detained on Wednesday evening by Gardai. Nine people now remain in custody and are being held at a number of different garda stations while investigations into the murder are continuing.

The 28-year-old rugby player was gunned down near his home in Dooradoyle last November in an apparent case of mistaken identity.
