Limerick Smarter TravelLIMERICK Smarter Travel is offering financial support to individuals and groups running events during National Bike Week 2015.

Grants available will range from €250 to €500 per application/event. All applications will be assessed by a panel of three independent judges.

It has been established to get more people participating in cycling both for transport and recreation. As judges we will be looking for simple yet creative applications which will help grow the cycling culture here in Limerick. We welcome a variety of events as the intention is to have something for every age and ability.”

Previous events run in connection with National Bike Week have included bicycle repair workshops, a summer solstice cycle, school competitions and guided bike tours. Interested applicants can choose to run an existing event or propose a new one.

This year National Bike Week runs from June 13 to 21, with cycling themed events happening right across the country. Individuals, groups, businesses and clubs can apply to the fund if their event is not for profit and held between June 13 and 21 inclusive.
