Gardai investigate assault on man

GARDAI are investigating an attack on a man in the city centre some time after 2am yesterday morning in Upper William Street.

It is understood the victim, who is believed to be in his early twenties, was assaulted by a group of men and received a laceration to the face.
He was taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital, but was released a short time later.
