CLONLARA’s Underdog Theatre Group has devised a new show for its next production, Clonvicts: The Musical. A fundraiser for the local school and sports centre, Clonvicts: The Musical will take place from Sunday December 19 at 4pm and on Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 at 8pm in Clonlara Sports Centre. Actors from neighbouring Truagh, Ardnacrusha and Corbally combine with village people for this show within a show which is a creative mix of live performance and short films.
It tells the story of Nancy Clancy who is in trouble with the law. While in court, she meets with misfits like herself and before long, all are sentenced to putting on musical variety for Clonlara. This results in much singing, dancing, acting and laughs on stage.
Martina Meskil directs; tel. 087-6624109 for €10 tickets, €5 children.
