Rubberbandits still in the race for number one

The Rubberbandits will have to wait until this Thursday to find out if they have outsold this year’s X-Factor single. The race is still very much on. Limerick Post was able to confirm that Matt Cardle’s When We Collide is still outselling The Rubberbandits nationwide by a small margin as both acts have had thousands of extra CDs manufactured.

The Limerick duo has confirmed that new stock of its single Horse Outside arrived at HMV Limerick this morning (Tuesday Dec 21). Copies of the the single flew off the shelves at the weekend as people got behind the Bandits effort to be Ireland’s Christmas Number One. According to Eadaoin at HMV Limerick, “Our first delivery of the single sold out in about three hours. We recieved a larger delivery on Saturday and we sold out by 3pm. People were actively seeking the single out. Sales are incredibly high for a physical single. There is very strong competition from X Factor winner Matt Cardle”
As bandit-mania grips the city, tickets for two of their shows in Limerick are now sold out. Their is a limited number of tickets left for the afternoon show on December 29. More information at www.therubberbandits.com where the duo’s new range of Horse Outside T-Shirts is selling out fast.
