Blues n’rhythm alchemy to Jazzology

CORNSTORE pumps up its late music policy with a live jazz band with vocals secured for Friday nights, 10pm. Walk right in, take a seat at the bar and enjoy louche living to the strains of Jazzology.
Jazzology is a new band comprised of long-standing musicians who compose, rearrange, teach and play. Expect John Daly, drums and vibraphone, to run the show with Bryan Meehan on keyboard, and a base line variant of Joe O’Callagahan, Peter Hanaghan, Dave Keary or Mike Hinchy.

The front man, usually, Conor J Ryan will vary too, morphing into the lovely Clare based singer Síomha Brock on occasion, as happened Friday June 24.
“Conor presents a mixed programme of some Michael Bublé, Jess James, Dinah Washington, James Brown and Stevie Wonder standards such as ‘Superstition’,” reports John Daly. “Think blues, rhythm, jazz, mixing stuff so the audience can identify it. We, the musicians, work out the rearrangements of songs and Conor really does have fabulous ideas to contribute. You should here his working of Michael Jackson’s ‘Billy Jean’. He makes it jazzy, dark, really different”.
Hear the difference at Thomas Street’s Cornstore, restaurant and late drinks with tapas.
