THE Irish Chamber Orchestra’s Summer Serenade this Sunday 17 at The Milk Market will feature Barber’s  Adagio for Strings, Mozart’s  Divertimento in D, K.136 and the world première of ‘Anything can Happen’ by Irish composer Mícheál O Súilleabháin.  Conductor Bradley Creswick (pictured), leader of the Northern Sinfonia and the London Philharmonia, will include Hungarian gypsy music by Hubay and Grigoras Dinicu in this uplifting Prom. 3pm, Sunday 17 and St Senan’s Church in Kilkee is host to an evening performance this Friday 15 at 8pm.

ASKEATON Contemporary Arts is ever an enterprising and revealing 10 days of ‘live’ works created on site in this County Limerick village. This year the selected international artists taking part are Elaine Byrne, Alan Counihan, Amanda Gutierrez, Allan Hughes, Oswaldo Ruiz and the perennial curator is Michele Horrigan, who founded the festival.
This year it runs until Saturday July 23 and public events, screenings and workshops can be tracked on website www.askeatonarts.com.
“Most especially, Welcome to the Neighbourhood is delighted to host prominent Irish storyteller and folklorist Eddie Lenihan in a free concert on the evening of Wednesday 20,” says Michelle. “On Saturday 23, artists’ projects will be presented thorughout the town”.
Limerick city folk can book designated bus transport at 2pm to arrive at the official opening at Askeaton Civic Trust. The Curatorial Tour is with artist Sean Lynch at 4pm and the bus back to the city is 6.15pm. You might even stay on for the annual Hellfire Club Party at 9pm in the village.

WORK by Eimear Jean McCormack from the international Open Submission print show coinciding with the launch of Limerick Printmakers Studio and Gallery at No. 5 Sarsfield Street. All welcome there this Thursday 14 at 8pm to view what Andrew Boyle has curated from 200 works.
