Series of Lenten talks at Biblical Institute

THE Dominican Biblical Institute, Upper Cecil Street, will present four Advent Talks on the topic: A way forward for the Church?
Mary T. Malone gave the first talk on November 24 and the presentation suggested the many conversions that need to occur, personally and communally as we move toward the transformation of the church in Ireland. She lectured in theology in Canada for 30 years.

Joseph Kavanagh will give the second talk on December 1, Hope and Humour.
He set up the Priory Institute in Tallaght in 2000 to promote distance education in theology and was its moderator until 2010. He has worked in pastoral ministry in Ireland and Trinidad.
Michael Campbell-Johnston will give the third talk on December 8, entitled The Church in today’s world: the crises it faces and the advantages it possesses.
He is a Jesuit and has worked for social justice for 40 years. He lived and worked closely with the poor in Guyana and El Salvador and co-ordinated the work of the Jesuits for faith and justice world-wide for eight years. Ethna Regan will speak on December 15, Wintering Out: Facing our History: seeking understanding and hoping for a future.
She teaches theology at Mater Dei Institute, Dublin, was a lecturer at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad, where she lived for over a decade
The talks are at 7.30 PM and admission is free.
