Trial for woman on buried drugs charges

THE BOOK of evidence is not ready for a woman who will face trial at Limerick Circuit Court for allegedly having over €190,000 worth of amphetamines buried in her garden.  32-year-old Rose Ryan, Poultalloon, Fedamore, is to face trial in the Circuit Court as per the directions of the DPP given to Judge Eamon O’Brien. It is alleged, that when gardai searched her home, Ms Ryan was said to have been in possession of a small quantity of cocaine, cannabis and amphetamines, and further searches revealed

the larger quantity of drugs buried in the front garden.
The searches were carried out on August 13, 2010, and Ms Ryan was on bail awaiting directions from the DPP.
The files have since been sent to the DPP and the book is to be ready early next year.  She will face two counts of section 15 and three counts of section 3 breaches of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Darach McCarthy, solicitor, represented the accused, who was present in court, and the matter was adjourned until February 23 next.
