€190,000 of amphetamines buried in front garden

THE Book of Evidence was presented to a woman who will face trial at Limerick Circuit Court for allegedly having over €190,000 worth of amphetamines buried in her garden. 32-year-old Rose Ryan, Poultalloon, Fedamore, is to face trial in the Circuit Court as per the directions of the DPP given to Judge Eamon O’Brien. It is alleged, that when gardai searched her home, Ms Ryan was said to have been in possession of a small quantity of cocaine, cannabis and amphetamines, and further searches revealed the larger quantity of drugs buried in the front garden.

The searches were carried out on August 13, 2010, and Ms Ryan was on bail awaiting directions from the DPP.
The file had been sent to the DPP, and the book was made ready last month. She will face two counts of section 15 and three counts of section 3 breaches of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Darach McCarthy, solicitor, represented the accused, who was present in court, and the matter was adjourned to the next sitting of the Circuit Court.
