Fáilte Ireland prepares for Shannon takeover

FÁILTE Ireland has worked with Shannon Development on plans for the coming year in order to ensure continuity of service to the Mid West tourism industry when it takes over the Shannnon agency’s tourism brief.

The priorities for 2012 were outlined by Fáilte Ireland at its annual tourism industry briefing for the Shannon region in The Strand Hotel, Limerick on this (Wednesday) morning.

Fáilte Ireland chief executive, Shaun Quinn stressed that a radical change in approach to the British tourism market would be necessary this year.

“This year in particular, the industry has been given a leg up with ‘The Gathering’ initiative developed by Fáilte Ireland. The local tourism industry needs to put its best foot forward in 2013 and provide those who have come to ‘gather’ with an unparalleled visitor experience and great value which will encourage visitors to recommend the Shannon region as a premier destination and return again and again to the region”, he said.
