A WEST Limerick community is in mourning today after a teenage boy died in a farm accident.

Jack Lyons (14) was power-hosing a shed with a friend when he died. It is believed he was electrocuted.

The incident happened shortly before 3pm yesterday at his grandparent’s farm in Ballingarry.

Frantic attempts were made to resuscitate him. He was brought by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick where he was pronounced dead.

Jack’s parents, Kevin and Carmel Lyons and twin brothers Darragh and Cormac, aged 10 are being comforted by family and friends.

A postmortem is due to be carried out and a Health and Safety Authority investigation is underway.
