IN the midst of the ongoing heatwave on Shannonside, another sharp turn in the weather is expected after a Status Yellow thunderstorm warning was issued for Limerick and a number of other counties.
Met Éireann issued the weather warning, which came into effect from 2pm this Wednesday (May 27) and will stay in place until 7pm this evening.
The weather service warned of scattered thunderstorms along with potential for lightning and hail damage, slippy roads, and impaired visibility where showers hit.
The warning is in place for Limerick, Cork, Kerry, Waterford, and Wexford.
At the same time, Limerick is also under a Status Yellow high temperature warning, with high of 27 degrees and night-time minima of 15 degrees predicted.
