AN INSPIRING €70,753 was raised by the Askeaton community in memory of the late Jack O’Donoghue.

The late Askeaton man tragically lost his life in a road crash in April 2025.

Last month, the community banded together in his memory to raise vital funds for The Butterfly Club children’s respite organisation, the BUMBLEance children’s ambulance, and the purchase of a defibrillator for the town.

A number of fundraising events were held between April 9 and 12, marking the anniversary of Jack’s death, with the community raising an impressive €70,753 for the good causes.

“This amazing sum is down to all of those who donated so generously. The event received mammoth support in so many ways from so many,” a statement from the organisers said.
