Limerick City of Culture 2014 is inviting cultural groups to apply for funding opportunities as the historic year approaches.

Applications are welcome from the 350 groups who submitted proposals earlier this year but other interested parties can also apply.

Artistic Director Karl Wallace believes this is a chance for cultural groups to collaborate with each other and create project ideas for 2014.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for cultural groups, Limerick is a hub of creativity and artistic excellence and there is a range of creative work that has gone untapped here for many years,” says Karl.

“Limerick is a fantastic urban city and we really need to highlight its brilliance and beauty in 2014 and beyond. Limerick has been given the tools to draw together our indigenous creativity and love of the arts. This city can showcase what it has to offer on a national stage, highlighting the talents of our county,” he added.

Interested parties should act fast as the submission deadline for funding is only three weeks away, closing at midnight Monday, September 30th 2013.

The ‘Made in Limerick’ application packs are now available to download on the website, www.limerickcityofculture.ie, and applications must be submitted by email to applications2014@limerickcity.ie

The Culture Team will also be holding free clinics at Culture House, No. 2 Pery Square on the 12th, 18th and 20th of September for anyone who needs help or advice on their funding application and further details on the clinics will be announced on the website.
