After Dark – Launch of the Butterfly Ball

LAST week saw members of the Board of the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation and organisers of the annual Butterfly Ball gather at Limerick Strand hotel on the Ennis Road to announce details  of this year’s black-tie fundraiser. Other invited guests like rugby legend Anthony Foley, Richard Lynch from ilovelimerick and Celia Holman Lee plus sponsors were also there as we learned that the 2013 Butterfly Ball will take place at Strand hotel on Saturday October 5 fpr what promises to be a superb night.
The Butterfly Ball is always a high profile event on Limerick’s social calendar, not only because it raises funds for such an important cause but because of the superb lineup of entertainment it always delivers.
The aim of the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation is to complement and cooperate with the HSE to help the regional Cancer Services in areas like purchasing of life saving equipment, funding research and continuing education necessary to support our designated National Cancer Centre. Thanks to the support of people in the Mid-West, funds have been raised and used for the refurbishment of the Oncology wards and radiology conference room as well as Urology equipment, UL research and for additional nursing staff and a senior pharmacist.
Ticket are €90 which will include a champagne reception on arrival and delicious four course meal plus music by The Guests, Michael John Ryan String Quartet and DJ Party Marty.
Other highlights will include a professional photograph by Michael Martin Photography and gift bags for guests, entertainment by James Sexton and the huge annual raffle that always boasts an array of great prizes.
