TWO people accused of living off the proceeds of prostitution have been served with income tax demands of over €250,000 and accumulated penalties by the Criminal Assets Bureau.

Six officers from the CAB investigation unit served the demands on the two accused as they were on their way to Limerick Circuit Court for a date to be set for their criminal trial on charges of operating a number of brothels in Limerick.

The revenue demands were made after a CAB investigation concluded that they were in receipt of income without declaring it or paying taxes to the State.
