CULTURAL events across Limerick have been allotted €42,000 in funding as part of a €1.1m national EU presidency programme.
The funding, according to County Limerick TD and Minister Patrick O’Donovan, will focus on “key cultural venues and festivals across all three municipal districts”, including Friar’s Gate Theatre in Kilmallock, the Éigse Michael Hartnett Festival in Newcastle West, Askeaton Contemporary Arts Festival, and a “major concert at King John’s Castle, showcasing Limerick’s distinctive blend of electronic music and traditional Irish culture”.
“From Kilmallock to Newcastle West, Askeaton to Limerick City, this funding will bring real energy to our local festivals, venues and communities,” Minister O’Donovan said.
