After Dark – At the Old Quarter Bar

THE Old Quarter bar on Little Ellen Street in the heart of Limerick was a hive of activity last weekend with a mix of live bands and superb sporting coverage keeping everyone entertained.
The weekend began with music from Cross Town in the bar followed by Sticky Fingers on Saturday 1 night as the weekend got into full swing. Party goers also took the opportunity to sample the new cocktail menu with everything from classic Mojitos and Cosmos to newer creations like the JuneBug or Purple Rain on offer from €6.95.
Sunday then saw plenty of excitement with all the action from the Six Nations live in the bar as Ireland took on Scotland. Rugby fans enjoyed a selection of lunch dishes in the heated veranda area and inside while enjoying the game in the popular city centre pub. The Old Quarter also came up with a unique reward system that saw stamps for every try Ireland made – which only added to the excitement of the occasion as Ireland triumphed in their opening game.
The next big event on the Old Quarter social calendar meanwhile, is Valentine’s weekend. They have already announced their big lineup with Atomic Chicken playing live on Friday February 14 and The Moonshiners on Saturday 15 plus a four course dinner offer of €49 per couple, designed to get everyone in the mood for romance!
