A STRAY horse was seized by Limerick City and County Council last week on one of the city’s main thoroughfares.

The Council confirmed in a statement that a chestnut male Shetland was seized after it was found on Henry Street in Limerick City on April 7.

According to the Council, the owners or keepers of the abandoned animals are not known.

Abandoned horses seized by the Council, if not claimed by their owner within five days, are re-homed to shelters outside of Limerick.
