Dell launch app for Daffodil DayTHE Irish Cancer Society have teamed up with Dell to produce a special Daffodil Day mobile phone app in an innovative approach to generating awareness among young people.

The app works on all platforms and has a range of special features including a location mapping function that empowers users to discover nearby Daffodil Day merchandise sellers in their area.

Of course, it is also a powerful charitable giving tool which makes it easier than ever to donate to the Irish Cancer Society on Daffodil Day, which will be held on Friday,March 28 next.

Dell Ireland is behind the innovative mobile application which the Irish Cancer Society hopes will be instrumental in attracting a new generation of supporters to the Daffodil Day campaign.

“What better way to generate awareness of and support for Daffodil Day among young people than through a free smartphone app. The tech experts at Dell have come up with a range of brilliant features including a dynamic map that lets you track down locations where campaign merchandise is available,” said the Irish Cancer Society’s web service manager Shane Breslin.

Dell has been the lead partner of the Irish Cancer Society on Daffodil Day since 2011. The company provides marketing, financial and volunteering support for Daffodil Day, with almost every one of Dell’s 2,500 employees in Limerick, Cork and Dublin involved in the campaign in some capacity.

Funds raised on Daffodil Day go towards funding the important work done by the Society, including the provision of a night nursing service to those who are seriously ill with cancer and wish to remain at home.

The Daffodil Day app is available to download free from Google Play, Windows Phone and the iOS App Store.
