Limerick family held captive in armed raid

A FAMILY in county Limerick were held captive at gunpoint last night when four masked men raided their home and locked them, including three young children, in a bathroom.

Gardai are investigating the matter that occurred near Grange last Wednesday night where the four raiders were armed with hand guns.

A husband, wife and three young children aged four, six and nine were not seriously injured in the raid but are said to be in a great deal of shock today.

An unknown quantity of cash and a number of other items were taken by the raiders in the aggravated burglary before the alarm was raised around 10pm.

A technical examination is underway and Gardai at Bruff are appealing to members of the public who may have noticed or heard anything to come forward and contact them at 061382103.
