MINISTER of State for Sport, Michael Ring TD, has announced an investment package of €305,000 from the Irish Sports Council to support Limerick Sports Partnership (LSP).

The funding will be used by the LSP to increase levels of participation in sport throughout Limerick, especially amongst specific target groups such as older people, girls and women, people with disabilities, unemployed people, and those who live in identified disadvantaged communities.

Welcoming the news, LSP Sports Coordinator Phelim Macken stated: “The Government funding will allow Limerick Sports Partnership to continue to provide educational and whole of life physical activity opportunities for people in local communities throughout Limerick.  This allocation is in recognition of the excellent work achieved to date by the LSP Staff and Partnership support from the LSP Board members.”
