Syringe used in hotel robbery

A 30-YEAR-old man has been arrested following a robbery at a hotel on Limerick’s Dock Road. 

Gardaí in Henry Street are investigating the robbery that happened at around 3am this Wednesday morning when it is understood that a man entered the hotel reception area and threatened the male receptionist with a syringe. He demanded cash and fled the scene with a cash box. 

Gardaí were alerted and arrived on the scene within minutes. 

They pursued the suspect along Windmill Apartments where he was arrested. 

He was subsequently detained at Henry Street Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. No injuries were sustained during the robbery and the cash box was recovered.
