Divers recover body

imageTHE body of an unidentified man has been recovered from the River Shannon in Limerick this Tuesday.

The discovery was made at the riverbank near Atlas Avenue off the Dock Road by divers from Limerick Marine Search and Rescue Service.

A four-man diving team had been searching for the bodies of two missing women at the time. The body is thought to have been in the water for at least than 48 hours.

A post mortem examination is taking place this Wednesday at the University Hospital Limerick with a view to establishing the man’s identity, but it is believed he is aged in his mid 40s to early 50s.
