RONAN Cassidy, executive producer to the €15,000 City of Culture bursary films that premiered at Richard Harris International Film Festival, reported a sell-out house for the 20minute features.
Liam O’Neill’s ‘Lost and Found’, starring Caroline Morahan, Nigel Mercier and Liam O’Brien, was shot at Thornfields, Ahane, and Cashell Horgan’s ‘The Clockmaker’s Dream’, filmed in Bunratty.
Limerick actor Joe Mullins (‘Pilgrim Hill’) was cast as The Clockmaker and Hollywood’s Jared Harris (‘Lincoln’, ‘Mad Men’, ‘The Man from UNCLE’) ultimately stepped in as narrator.
Looking back on a competitive weekend, World Cup Rugby included, Mr Cassidy of Film Limerick is grinning: “There wasn’t room to move. Jared Harris did a terrific question-and-answer with the two directors, who each introduced their film.
“There’s nothing like playing to a packed audience”.
He also credits Simon McGuire and Mark Griffin of Behind the Scenes network “who worked tirelessly to ensure that the Film Limerick project was a great success”.
