BLINDBOY Boatclub of the Rubberbandits for President?

Well, stranger things have happened! And after the ‘Horse Outside’ star made a serious impression on RTÉ’s Late Late Show, he is now at 40/1 to become the next President of Ireland.

BoyleSports have introduced Blindboy into the betting for the next Presidential election after his eloquent contribution as part of a panel to discuss the 1916 commemoration on the Late Late Show.

“My generation are either leaving the country or jumping in rivers,” he proclaimed during the debate.

Known to passport control as Dave Chambers, Blindboy made a real impression on viewers and as a result has been installed into the betting at 40/1 after viewers expressed their opinions about the Limerick man becoming the next President of Ireland on social media.

“Blindboy certainly made an impression on the Late Late Show on Friday night with the public quick to react on social media wanting the Rubberbandits member as a future president of Ireland,” Liam Glynn of BoyleSports explained.

“Despite currently being a long shot at 40/1, if the public continue to get behind the Limerick man we could see his odds shorten up and wouldn’t it be some sight to see Blindboy’s horse outside Áras an Uachtaráin,” he added.

Currently, Mairead McGuinness is the favourite at 11/2 to take over from Michael D Higgins with RTE presenter, Miriam O’Callaghan next in the betting at 6/1. Long shots for the role include former Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern at 100/1, Gerry Adams at 80/1 and Dana Rosemary Scallon who has run as a candidate on two previous occasions at 66/1.
