ST Mary’s Cathedral has a special lunchtime concert taking place at the revised date of Wednesday February 17, under the intriguing title of ‘Breathless’.

Calm yourself, that fateful date falling in St Valentine’s week. Arts page is told that this daytime delight under St Mary’s vaulted roof holds the recorder instrument at centre.

Soloist Caoimhe de Paor will present a varied programme of Van Eyck, Wilson, Bach, Eggert, for part one.

Part two will include the Breathless Sonata (1965) by Annette Ziegenmeyer and Benjamin Thorn; also The Guru Guy, written for recorder and delay, and The Voice of the Crocodile (1988).

Free in, with a retiring collection.
