THE EMERGENCY Department at the University Hospital Limerick today list the highest number of people in the country waiting for admission to hospital on trolleys.Records from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show that there are 41 people waiting for hospital beds on the ED in Dooradoyle today (Monday July 4) making the department the most crowded in the country.
The demand for beds is coming in ahead of even the big Dublin hospitals, with the next highest number recorded in the Midlands Hospital in Tullamore, where 28 people ae waiting for admission.
