KATIE O’Kelly is an actress, a playwright and maker of theatre.

In Limerick we have seen her work at Theatre at The Savoy with ‘Counter Culture’; in Belltable with Palestinian activist and performance poet Rafeef Ziadah; in Kilmallock with ‘Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man’ with the New Theatre Company.

We caught a glimpse of her own play ‘The Olive Tree’ in May with Ziadah and now she returns with it to Friars’ Gate as writer and performer this Saturday September 3 at 8pm.

‘The Olive Tree’  is “told using comedy and imagination throughout to frame the heavy reality of life in occupied Palestine in an entertaining way, with frequent moments of humour, making it suitable for audiences aged 12+.”

Bear in mind that Katie O’Kelly, actor Donal O’Kelly’s daughter, was Stage UK magazine’s nominee for Best Solo Performer in Edinburgh Fringe 2012.
