Road re-opens after County Limerick collision

Rescue workers used cutting equipment to remove casualties from a two-vehicle head-on collision near the County Limerick village of Bruree this morning.

A section of the N20 Limerick to Cork road was closed between Rourke’s Cross and Charleville following the accident which occurred shortly before 11am.

Four people were taken to University Hospital Limerick and it understood that no life-threatening injuries were sustained.

Gardaí from the Bruff district and paramedics from the National Ambulance Service attended the scene of the crash along with crews from Kilmallock Fire Station.

The scene of the collision has now been cleared and the road has fully re-opened.
